Soccer for Health Initiative

The Soccer for Health Initiative was initiated in 2018 by Dr. Felipe Lobelo to advance implementation research and programmatic activities, adapting the Football is Medicine (FIM) model to the needs of patients and populations in the U.S and the Americas. We are involved in the development of best practice, evidence-based concepts, using soccer and other team-based recreational sports as a powerful tool for health promotion across the lifespan.
